The romance of being all at sea! For couples keen on cruising this can be an excellent honeymoon option. Whether you like the idea of relaxing by the pool and taking lazy strolls on the decks or enjoying the nightlife fun of the bars, shows, casino and nightclub, one great thing about cruising is that most of your honeymoon is pre-paid because meals are included (and are usually a very high standard).
P&O operates large cruise ship itineraries from Australia and New Zealand, usually including a number of exotic ports for day trips. A sample itinerary: Sydney, Noumea, Isle of Pines, Mystery Island, Port Vila, Luganville. (Note – if couples wish to include getting married with their shipboard romance, unlike in the movies, the Captain can’t legally officiate – nor can you marry in New Caledonia, so ensure Port Vila is on the itinerary and we can make the wedding part of your day in port in Vanuatu.)
Cruising can also be a great way to discover Tahiti and Hawaii with combination flight, land and cruise packages. As the cruise companies say, you book the holiday and we’ll move the scenery. With Hawaii you can fly to Honolulu and then cruise to the islands of Kaua’i, The Big Island and Maui. In Tahiti, from the capital Papeete through the islands of Bora Bora, Huahine, Moorea or Raiata and Taha’a. Most cruises travel gently through the night so you wake up in another part of paradise.
There are also rewarding cruises like Blue Lagoon Cruises in Fiji. These visit the stunning Yasawa islands and also give you lots of shore time and activities.
